忙しいって、私の日記の頻出ワードじゃなかろうか。
言ったって書いたって仕方ないのにどうしても出ちゃう。

とあるバグ（仕様漏れ？）のせいで大問題に。
私はそれどころじゃないっていうのに。
でもまぁ私のバグじゃないから気は楽だ。
申し訳ございませんと言いつつ、内心は「私のせいじゃない」と思ってる。

今週予定していた作業はまだ手つかずで、たぶん明日から週末にかけてやるしかない。







そんなことを今言うのは卑怯だ！
今まで何も言わなかったのだから、共犯だよ。

以上、自分自身の愚痴に対する私の心の声でした。
こちらは私の割と本業本来タスクに関する話なのでタチ悪い。

※「ケチな」って意味は文脈からわかったけど、これも覚えにくい単語だな。音の響きと意味がマッチしないし。

※「中止する」という意味はもちろんしっていたけど、第一義は上記のものでした。

気になった文。
I've got a proposition.

poropositionって何だっけ？そっか、proposeの名詞形か。
あれ、proposalとはどう違うの？

ってことで、Longmanで調べてみた。

■proposal
・a plan or suggestion which is made formally to an official person or group, or the act of making it
・when you ask someone to marry you

■proposition
・a statement that consists of a carefully considered opinion or judgment
・an offer or suggestion, especially in business or politics

良く見たらpropositionには動詞としての意味があった。

■proposition[transitive] formal
・to suggest to someone that they have sex with you: Here, prostitutes constantly proposition tourists.

どうも大した違いはないけど、proposalの方がよりformalってところらしい。

ヒッチコックの映画に、
"let's go back to New York on the train together
- is that a proposition?
- it's a proposal, sweety"
って会話が出てくるらしく、とある掲示板での回答の１つは、

is that a proposition? - are you offering to sleep with me?
it's a proposal, sweety - no, I'm offering to marry you.

In the context of sex/love, a proposition is an offer of sex, you proposition a prostitute, while a proposal is an offer of marriage.

In the business context, proposition is hardly used while proposal is very common and is used for the formulation of all sorts of future plans. For example, I'm meant to be writing a funding proposal right now, but I'm procrastinating instead.

In the context of sex/loveって括り方がちょっと新鮮だった。
正式な提案＝結婚の誘い＝プロポーズって理解をしていたけれど、
提供するものがSEXか結婚かで単語が使い分けられてるとしたらかなり微妙。

で、元の文に立ち返ってみると、どの会話から抜いた誰の発言かもう覚えてないけど、
多分ペットホテルのお姉ちゃんがMaconに言ったような気がする。
だとすると、proposalじゃなくてpropositionであるのもわかるような。
だって、このお姉ちゃんは、Maconに興味津々で口説きたがってたみたいだから。
