【音楽】クリスマス特集を良心的に組もうとすると、大変困ります。結局平凡な選曲になりました。 |
◆クリスマス・キャロルだけじゃないですからね。本当は。
今朝の日本経済新聞のコラム、「春秋」（12/24）、なかなかいいですね。
抜萃引用しますと、
キリスト教は欧米の宗教ではない。発祥の地は現代風にいえば中東であり、西に向かって広まった。
地理的な距離感は、インドで始まった仏教が東に向かい、日本でも定着したのと似ている。
キリスト教も、仏教も、その過程で、それぞれの地に合った味つけもなされた。
そのとおりなんですね。欧米の宗教ではない。しかし、こと音楽とキリスト教との関連を考えると、
西洋音楽とヒジョーに深い関係があって、バッハの作品だけ考えても、キリが無い。
カンタータなんて200曲もあります。
更に、三大宗教曲といってですね。マタイ受難曲、クリスマス・オラトリオ、ヨハネ受難曲。
いずれも全曲演奏したら大変長い。その中から、特に綺麗なのを、とやり出したら････。
世の中にはバッハ研究の専門家がいて、一生かけてるわけですから、私には手に負えません。
というわけで、クリスマスキャロルと、クリスマスには直結しませんが、バッハのカンタータなどから、
色々選ぼうとしたのですが、中途半端になりそうなので、今年は断念して、ごくありふれた構成にします。
つまり、非常に有名なクリスマス・キャロル「だけ」です。悪しからず。
◆クリスマス・キャロルの代表曲。
今からＣＤを取り寄せてもしかたがないから、一昨日も紹介しましたが、
iTunes Storeでダウンロード購入出来るThe Very Best of Christmasから。
今年生誕200年だった、メンデルスゾーン作曲の、
Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
です。歌詞を添えます。

このボーイソプラノでなければ得られない声の美しさですね。クリスマス・キャロル（というか教会の聖歌隊は）はこれが肝心です。
次に、これも有名ですね。「もろびとこぞりて」、英語だと、"Joy to the World"です。

曲をお聴き下さい。

同じメロディーで歌詞がことなる。１番、２番と言っていいのかわかりませんが、
そこで、わずかに間を取りますね。これが、一瞬の静寂を生み、また新たに歌声が聞こえる。
教会というのは残響が長いので、こういう工夫が為されるようになったのかな、と
全然不勉強で知りませんが、今、ひらめき（？）ました。
次も良く知られています。讃美歌としては111番だそうですが、英語の曲名は、O Come, All Ye Faithfulです。

次は説明要らないですね。「清しこの夜」、"Silent Night"。
但しですね。この録音、英語歌詞が普通と全然違うのです。
"Silent Night"の歌詞は何種類もあるのでしょうか（調べたけれどもわかりません）？
