Edvin Marton のCDが届いた。


なかなか良い感じである。

"Gloomy Sunday"のライナーノーツ。

This is a very sentimental track. I first heard it in the film of the same name and composed a remix with cool beats. The Stradivari sounds brilliant in this number. The end of the film simply bowled me over. Sometimes I still dream about the lead actress - although I've forgotten her name...

ほぉ、彼もあの映画を見たんだな。
ハンガリーを舞台にした映画だったもんね。

「結末に驚いた」と。
私は驚いたって言うよりは、悲しかったけど。
主演女優さんがとても印象的だったのには私も賛成！

【句動】 ひどく驚かす、気を転倒させる
・ Contrary to its good critical reception, the movie didn't bowl me over.
好意的な批評だったにもかかわらず、その映画には心打たれなかった。


"Miss You"という曲のライナーノーツには、
彼女と別れた直後で、
バイオリンはまだ彼女のところに置きっぱなしだったので、
初めでピアノで作曲したと書かれている。
"I don't know what I missed most"だって。
いやそこで、バイオリンがなくて寂しいと言われた日には彼女の立場が・・・


"First Date"という曲では、
"I was sixteen and head-over-heels."って表現が。
この表現知ってたけど、使われているのを見るのは初めてだ。


特に気に入ったのは、
・King Of The Forest
・Magic Stradivarius
・Birdman
・Fire Dance
かな。

CDのタイトルにも"beats"が入っていることからもわかるように、
結構ビートがきいている。
今度は、バイオリンの音だけが響くような曲も聴いてみたい。
