We breathe 24 hours a day without having to think about it, but often our breathing is bare minimum. Taking time to concentrate and breathe more fully is well worth it. It can quickly shift our state of mind from stress to serenity. The breath is the link between the body, mind and spirit. When the breath becomes steady and flows freely, agitation melts away and we feel a relaxed inner steadiness. It is essential when practicing yoga to become attuned to the breath, so we have made this the first segment of the program.
