Resumeが効かないT8にイライラさせられながら
ここ数日はまた　The Last Five Years を聞いていた。

今まであんまり好きじゃなかったプロポーズソングが
なかなかいいなと思うようになった。
非常にロマンチックである。
多分、現実で似たようなことを言われたらそんなに嬉しくないかもだけど。

I want to be your wife. は非常にクリアに聞き取れていたのに
その直後はダメで

ドイツ語版で

Ich werde daine Fraw. Ich schenke dir ein Kind.

を聞いて、え、そんなこと言ってたっけ？と衝撃。

英語でも　I want to bear your child. って言ってるね、確かに。
馬鹿みたいだけど、I wanto to be your child. って聞いてた。
ん？と思いつつも、庇護されたいってことかしらとかこじつけて
スルーしてたんだな。。。

どうでもいいけど、英語版と独語版で若干ニュアンスが違うよね？
たまたまshcenkenが聞き取れたから、「え、何を？」と思ったんだよな。

それにしても、このミュージカルは歌詞に含蓄があるなぁ。
ちょっとしたフレーズで背景まで妄想が広がる。

作者はどんな人だろう、と調べたら、Jason Robert Brown って人で
私が一時期はまってた"King of the World "の作者であることが判明。
ああ、確かに、背景に奥行が感じられる詩だってことは共通してる。
この人は、曲も詩も両方担当してるんだよ。すごい。

勢いづいて "Songs for a New World"と"Parade"ってCDをお買い上げ。
