26年の時を越えた、ガンダム史上最強のコンセプトアルバム!
遡ること28年前となる1979年から1980年にかけて、「機動戦士ガンダム」の全43話がテレビで放送された。翌1981年からは3部作に渡って映画化され、劇場版の主題歌がオリコンチャートの上位にランクインを果たしたり、「ガンプラ」(プラモデル)の大ヒットが社会現象にまでなるなど、これまで巻き起こした一大ムーブメントの規模は、アニメーション史上最大のヒットコンテンツならでは、と言っても過言ではない。
そして作品の誕生からおよそ四半世紀後の2005年、先の「機動戦士ガンダム」の続編である「機動戦士Zガンダム」の映画化が実現。新たな解釈を交え、3部作として生まれ変わった同作品のテーマ曲すべて(計5曲)をGacktが担当することになる。その第1部となる映画「機動戦士Zガンダム~星を継ぐ者~」のテーマ曲、「Metamorphoze」のヒットは記憶にも新しい。ガンダムの生みの親である、富野由悠季・総監督とのコラボレーションは、かつて類を見ないほど親和性の高いものとなり、それ以来の友好の証として今回「歌」を贈ることになったわけである。Gacktが贈る歌とは、『砂の十字架』(劇場版「機動戦士ガンダム」主題歌/1981年)、『哀 戦士』(同「機動戦士ガンダムII~哀・戦士編~」主題歌/1981年)、そして『めぐりあい』(同「機動戦士ガンダムIII~めぐりあい宇宙編~」主題歌/1982年)という、ガンダムファンなら誰もが知っている3曲。これらをGackt流にアレンジを施し、いちからレコーディングを行った。なお、Gacktが他者の曲をフルアレンジし、カバーするのは、自身初の試みでもある。この3曲の他に、これまでGacktがガンダムとコラボレーションしてきた6曲を収録し、「機動戦士ガンダム」とその続編「機動戦士Zガンダム」における架空の舞台<宇宙世紀>上の9年間を音楽で辿るべく、その歴史年号をアルバムタイトルへ用いた。

大人になっても「観たい」と思わせるその高い作品性が評価され続け、世代を超えた支持を得ている「機動戦士ガンダム」シリーズ。およそ1000億円と言われる市場規模にまで成長したメガ・ヒットコンテンツの背景には、社会現象にまで発展したガンプラ(プラモデル)の存在だけでなく、それまでのアニメにはなかった、登場人物の人間味あふれる描写にもあった。主人公のアムロ・レイ、そしてそのライバル役のシャア・アズナブルは、中でもバツグンに人気が高く、現在でも「ガンダム」といえば真っ先に名前の挙がるキャラクターがこの二人である。
今回は、ガンダムの生みの親・富野由悠季監督による特別監修の下、本編にはないオリジナルの台詞を用意し、声優の古谷徹氏(アムロ・レイ役)と池田秀一氏(シャア・アズナブル役)に新規収録を依頼。Gacktの楽曲世界とガンダムの物語との融合がさらに高まり、聴き応えのある作品に仕上がっている。 *収録される楽曲は3タイプとも同じです。

Svindal hospitalized after training run crash
BEAVER CREEK, Colorado ? Reigning overall champion Aksel Lund Svindal was taken to a hospital after crashing during official World Cup downhill training on Tuesday. Svindal apparently lost control coming out of a severe compression following the Golden Eagle Jump on the lower section of the course. The Norwegian was taken off course on a sled before being transported to the Vail Valley Medical Center. He had cuts and bruises to his face and a 6-inch laceration on the back of his left leg. No ligament damage or broken bones were suspected, but he was undergoing surgery late Tuesday because doctors are worried about the depth of the laceration. - SkiRacing.com
