This is like a graduation speech... isn’t it?
You know, I hate to make a speech, especially in English, but this is very good opportunity to thank many people at one time. So, let me try to say something.
Please forgive me to read the paper not to forget anything important.
Time flies. I can't believe that I have already been here almost 4 years. When I came here in 2001, I did not speak English very well nor knew anything about the social system in America. For example, I was struggled to buy a cell phone for my wife because the cell phone shop personnel required me to show the driver's license. I could not believe the fact that “Driver's License” was required to buy just a cell phone. I still believe that it was a ridicules thing though.
But thanks to so many people's support, I could spend 4 years peacefully and happily. If I say everyone's name, my speech won't be finished... so, please forgive me to pick some of them.
First of all, I would like to say thank you for my boss Chuzai-1go and ex-boss ex-Chuzai-1go.
Ex Chuzai-1go taught me the importance of the "insistence" or "never-give-up". You know that we are not fluent English speaker, sometimes we have difficulties to tell our real intention or background to someone else. But if we give up, we never achieve our mission. When I was in Japan, I misunderstood that to speak English fluently was important but it is not really. Now I know that to speak "clearly" is more important.
Chuzai-1go taught me the importance of the accuracy. Some of you might aware that I am kind of "quick judgment" person, but sometimes it does not work. I have to give more careful consideration before I make some decision.
I also would like to thank AH. She is a very good English teacher for me. Even though sometimes she was strict teacher... It was good for me though. I belive I am more reasonable and understandable person than she think, but just we could not communicate perfectly. I was glad that I could let her go to Japan as a business trip. It is my good memory.
Chuzai-3go taught me how to play golf, even though he never teaches me recenty... I think he needs to have more open mind...
Mr. JV is the most important business counter partner for me as well as very good friend. Sometimes I felt him like an American father, even though he was from Holland. It is amazing thing for Japanese people to behave like a friend when someone is senior than the other. I really appreciate his friendship for me.
Finally I have to say thank you very much for my wife and children. I know how difficult for them to adjust. But they did very well. I am really proud of them.
Some of you may think that I feel sad to leave here. But it is my own surprise that I do not feel too much sorry about that. I thought about the fact and found some emotional similarity when I graduated the university. I really enjoyed my university life for 4 years then I did not miss anything when I left university. I realized that I had really enjoyed my life in United States for 4 years, so I do not feel so sad.
And also, since Mr. K is my successor, then I don't have to worry about anything after my leaving. In fact, I am just worried that he will be doing too much better than me... you know what I mean? Anyway, it would be really appreciated if you could extend your partnership and hospitality to me to Mr. K.
I said that I did't feel so sad, but it does not mean I don't like to come back here in future.
Now, I would like to introduce one interesting data. During my 4 years assignment with Chuzai-3go, some important contracts between our company and Your company were made. [Partially Deleted]
I believe either or both of Chuzai-3go and I brought this good news to your company. So if your company would like to sell more products to our company in future, please ask our executives to assign me to USA office again.
Again, I would like to say thank you very much to all of you from bottom of my heart, and I would like to close my speech by using the line of the famous Hollywood movie by the governor of California.
I will be back!
Thank you.
