Everything old is new again in Ken Toyama's
second Bilingual Theater!
This time Ken tries his hand at some Japanese
folk tales with Miki Muroi to the accompaniment
of her biwa, a traditional instrument used by
Japanese minstrels.
The folk tales include a kwaidan (horror tale)
called ¡ÈYuki-Onna ¡È(The Woman of the Snow) by Lafcadio
Hearn, better known as Koizumi Yakumo (1850-1904),
a Greek-Irish translator of old Japanese folk tales.
As a special entry, ¡ÈThe Golden Arm,¡É the scare
story that Mark Twain loved to tell, will be delivered
in Enlish and Japanese, too!
On a lighter note, Ken will take the audience back in
time to present Nankichi Niimi's ¡ÈFlowertreeville and
the Thieves,¡É a story about a thief and four unemployed
men who become his apprentices.
Ken and Miki will also be presenting the translated
version of the song "Imagine" in old-style Japanese.
