ジャマイカフェアウェルの歌詞について - 2021年10月21日(木)
最近、Jamaica Farewell を意味なく掘り下げてます。シリーズみたいになってきましたね。もう今日で終わりかと思います。ネタないし。
今日は歌詞をみていってみます。

注 Akey rice, Salt fish はどちらもジャマイカの郷土料理です。
4番で1番の歌詞が歌われることで、次に2,3番が来ることが予想されます。くるくる回して歌ってたのではないかと。行って帰って、また行って、そういう人生をすごしていると。その中でジャマイカ、おもろかったねー、あの娘、かわいかったねー、という歌かと思ってました。

情熱的ですねぇ。この頃の歌謡曲の売り方とかの事情もあったんでしょうね。エキゾティックなお姉さんがラテンの曲を歌う、ラテンは情熱的でないと、というような。
あとちょっとみつからなかったのですが、西岡恭蔵さんの歌詞もいいですね。KUROちゃんという方が歌詞を書かはったと聞いています。↑の年代からはかなり経ってて、「いま聞くといい曲だよねー」ということやったんかな。こっちもいいうたですねぇ。
ぼくの感覚では恋歌というより郷愁の歌なので、そのまま英語で歌い、
ところどころに日本語を織り交ぜてゆったり歌わせていただいてます。
